Beat exercise boredom by keeping your workouts fresh with these simple ideas. Learn how supersets, apps, and new routines can help you reach your goals!
It’s inevitable: if you do the same workout day after day, you’re bound to experience burn out. Sometimes it’s hard enough to fit a good workout in at all. Even more so if it’s something that you dread doing. Once you experience burnout, it can be hard to stay on track. So, here are a few simple ideas to help keep things fresh, making you more likely to stick to your fitness routine!
Mix It Up
Instead of sticking to the same schedule week after week, mix it up! Think outside the box and try something you never thought you would. Take a class once a week, workout outside, try a fitness DVD at home, weight lift or do HIIT . There are a ton of options to keep your workout fresh. Just find a mix that’s right for you and don’t be afraid to try something new!
If you want to stick to your regular weekly workout routine, you can at least add in a little excitement. Try adding supersets to make things fresh and challenging to keep you motivated. Supersets are a pair of exercises performed back to back, with no rest. You can superset exercises that use the same muscle groups, like push-ups and pull ups or different muscle groups like, squats and push ups. Either way, supersets will help to get your heart rate up and help you to beat exercise boredom in your regular routine.
Try an App
Bored with your workout routine? There’s an app for that! Really, there is an app for just about everything. With the click of a few buttons you can have a personalized workout at your fingertips. No matter what your fitness goals are apps can help you build muscle, train for a 5K or improve your flexibility. With all of the fitness apps out there, they’re bound to be able to help you keep things exciting!
Find Something You Love
For me, the number one way to beat exercise boredom is by finding something that you absolutely love to do. If you do, it will never feel like a chore and you won’t get bored! So, find something that you’re passionate about and everyday will be just as exciting as the next!
